The numbers tell part of the story: 4.6 stars across 545 reviews from members and guests who drove in from as far as Washington state and left saying nothing back home compares. That kind of reputation gets built one Friday night at a time, one prime rib dinner at a time, one New Year's Eve that people are still talking about weeks later.

Situated on North Bradley Road in Santa Maria, Lodge 1538 runs one of the most active calendars of any Elks chapter on the Central Coast. The grounds include what at least one visitor called the biggest BBQ they had ever seen in their life, and that claim holds up when you see the smoke rolling on a cook-your-own steak night. The RV area offers full hookups, making this a genuine destination for traveling Elks members rolling through California.

This is a lodge where the decorations go up, the music gets loud, and the people show up. Community isn't a tagline here. It's the reason the parking lot fills up on event nights and the reason members keep renewing year after year.

What We Offer

Lodge 1538 keeps the calendar packed with reasons to show up. Friday night cook-your-own steak nights are a weekly tradition that draws regulars and first-timers alike, a casual format where the grill does the talking. Special events like the New Year's Eve prime rib dinner raise the bar with full decorations, live music, and a crowd that knows how to celebrate.

For traveling Elks members, the full-hookup RV parking area on the property is a genuine perk. Pull in, get settled, and walk over to the lodge for dinner without unhitching. The facilities are clean, the staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere makes it easy to feel at home even if your home lodge is 1,000 miles north.

Beyond events and amenities, Lodge 1538 supports the broader Elks mission through charitable giving, youth programs, and community involvement across the Santa Maria Valley. Membership connects you to all of it.
